Chandigarh emerge winners

Hosts Chandigarh emerged as winners in the men’s category with a 29-20,29-28 over Punjab in the final on the concluding day of the 30th North Zone Ball Badminton Championship at Banyan Tree School.

Chandigarh won the first game comfortably with a margin of 29-20 before winning the second game with a narrow margin of 29-28. Earlier in the semi-final,Chandigarh ended the challenge of Himachal Pradesh with a 29-16,29-24 win. Chandigarh won the first game with a margin of 29-16 before winning the second game with a margin of 29-24. In another semi-final,Punjab defeated Haryana 29-18,29-20. In the match for third place,Haryana defeated Himachal Pradesh 29-23,29-25.

In the women’s category,hosts Chandigarh emerged as the winners with a 29-22,29-16 win over Punjab. Chandigarh won the first game with a margin of 29-22 before claiming the second game with a margin of 29-16. Earlier in the semi-final,Chandigarh ended the challenge of Haryana with a 29-20,29-18 win while Punjab defeated Himachal Pradesh 29-10,29-27.
