The Chandigarh team has been placed in Pool B along with Chennai,Mumbai and Sri-Lanka A for the 1st Shri Jawaharlal Ji Darda All India All India Under-17 National League Cricket Championship organized by Cricket Federation of India to be held at Aurangabad and Nashik (Maharashtra) from October 22 to 25. According to Amarjeet Kumar,general secretary,CFI,as many as 16 state teams,including Sri Lanka,have confirmed participation in the tournament. All the matches will be played at MGM Cricket Stadium,Aurangabad and Golf Club Cricket stadium,Nashik. The tournament,to be played on league cum knock-out basis,will be played over 20 overs each side. The pool winners will qualify for knockout semi-final stage. A six member national tournament technical committee has been formed which is headed by Ravinder Talwar of Chandigarh,vice-president,Cricket Federation of India,Syed Sadiq Pasha from Tamil Nadu,S Srikant Goud of Hyderabad,K. Samson James of Maharashtra,M.M. Rizwan of Sri Lanka and Parwez Khan of Jharkhand. At the conclusion of the Under 17 National Tournament,the probables for the CFI India Team that will participate in the 1st Rajiv Gandhi International Twenty-20 Cricket Cup at Panchkula and Chandigarh be selected.
