The Registering and Licensing Authority (RLA) earned a total revenue of more than Rs 2.57 crore from the e-auction. (File) Fancy number 0001 of the CH01CQ series fetched the highest amount of Rs 21.22 lakh in the e-auction of fancy numbers that concluded Friday. This amount was fetched against the reserve price of Rs 50,000.
Meanwhile the second registration number that fetched the highest bid after the first one was that of 0009 of the CH01CQ series which fetched Rs11.10 lakh.
The e-auction of vehicle registration numbers (fancy and choice) of the new series CH01-CQ from 0001 to 9999, and leftover numbers of previous series was held from May 24 to 26 in which a total of 462 registration numbers were auctioned. And the registration for e-auction of numbers of ‘CH01CQ’ series, along with the re-auction of leftover fancy/special registration numbers of previous series held on Friday.
Revenue earned
The RLA earned a total revenue of more than Rs 2.57 crore from the e-auction. According to the terms and conditions, the successful bidders will be required to get their vehicles registered as well as deposit the bidding amount within one month from the date of auction, failing which a penalty of 10 per cent as well as interest at the rate of 10 per cent on the balance amount will be charged till the date of payment. Only owners who had purchased the vehicles on a Chandigarh address were allowed to participate in the e-auction.
