The recent declaration of this weekend as ‘Dry Days’ in the city, came as a spoiler for many, especially those who can’t wait to get sloshed over the weekends. So when one of the prominent clubs in the city which was observing dry day,got to know that another prominent club is serving liquor and the members are making merry, they immediately rang up the Finance Secretary complaining about the violation of the code of conduct in the wake of SGPC polls. Last week, this tug of war for taking the credit reached to another level which was seen between the teachers’ association (PUTA) and the winning student group-SOPU. While SOPU sent official press releases claiming it to be their achievement after sending repeated reminders to university authorities,PUTA too circulated SMS among the teaching faculty members congratulating them and calling it to be possible only because of PUTA’s sincere efforts. The issue was-gate number 3 facing sector 25 to remain open till 9 pm instead of 7 pm.
