Even two months after Congress worker Sarwan Singh was killed allegedly by the securitymen of an Akali leader, there has been no headway in the case. The deceased’s handicapped son is still fighting to get justice. But the police have failed to nab the killers,he alleged.

Sarwan’s son Sukhwinder Singh met Deputy Commissioner K S Pannu on Wednesday and senior police officers demanding justice.

“All I am getting are assurances and no help. The police are even threatening me not to pursue the case. I am helpless,” he said.

Sarwan was a commission agent operating at Rayya, about 40 kms from here. He was allegedly hit in the head by

securitymen of Akali leader Jasbir Singh alias Jassa Sudharia.

The complainant said that the political clout of the accused was so strong that the police had not carried the investigations into the murder properly.

SSP Amritsar (Rural) G S Chauhan,on the other hand, said they have carried several raids to trace the accused who is absconding. He admitted that there were other cases in various other districts pending against the accused as well.
