Launching a frontal attack against the BJP government,AICC general secretary and party in-charge of Himachal Pradesh Birender Singh on Wednesday said all sitting BJP MLAs,ministers and a MP facing charges of corruption will be sent to prison when the Congress returns to power after next Assembly elections. He also endorsed Union Minister Virbhadra Singhs call to weed out corrupt elements and black-sheep in the Congress hobnobbing with the BJP to weaken the party.
Addressing a rally ,convened by the PCC at the end of partys three-day padyatra on Wednesday,Birender Singh said Health Minister Rajeev Bindal and a BJP MP were on the Congress hit list.
In the memorandum submitted to the Speaker,Congress MLAs delegation led by CLP Leader Vidya Stokes and PCC president Kaul Singh Thakur sought his intervention to grant prosecution sanction against Bindal and also appropriate legal action against BJP MP from Shimla.
Another delegation led by Birender Singh,which included Virbhadra Singh,AICC secretaries Anees Ahmed and Asha Kumari and CWC member Dhani Ram Shandilya submitted a separate memorandum to Governor Urmila Singh accusing BJP government of corruption and benami land transactions. They also named Bindal and Virender Kashyap in the memorandum and sought action.
Health minister rejects charges
Health Minister Rajeev Bindal rejected the charges against him and asked the PCC president to prove it. If charges (which the states Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau is probing against him) stand testimony of any judicial or legal institution,I will quit politics, Bindal said,terming the case against him as fabricated and concocted by the Congress . There is a definite design behind such a move, he said.
