The decision on cancellation of an FIR against Inspector Ram Gopal is likely to be pronounced in the court of Judicial Magistrate Sunil Kumar on Monday. On Friday,Justice Mahesh Kumar had referred the case back to the CJM citing personal reasons. In January, the court of JMIC Sumit Ghai, too, had, cited personal reasons for sending back the case.
Judicial Magistrate Sunil Kumar is likely to pronounce orders on an application filed by the Chandigarh police seeking cancellation of an FIR against Inspector Ram Gopal accusing him of getting promotion on the basis of a fake certificate.
Sources said as the arguments on the cancellation report have already been heard at length,JMIC Sunil Kumar is unlikely to hear the arguments all over again.
The High Court had recently directed the court to take up the matter within three weeks and take a decision on cancellation of the FIR.
Earlier,Madhur Verma, who was the investigating officer in the case pertaining to the alleged fake yoga certificate of Ram Gopal, had recommended cancellation of the FIR after finding him not guilty.
The matter was earlier with the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT),which had asked the UT administration to inquire into the authenticity of the certificate awarded to Ram Gopal on the basis of which he got a promotion.
