Dipanshu shocks second seed Manoj

Taking advantage of his fine serve,CLTA trainee Dipanshu Garg scored a shocking 7-6(4),6-3 win over second seed Manoj Sheoran in the first round in the boys' U-18 singles category in the AMUL-AITA Talent Series Tennis Tournament being played at CLTA courts on Monday.

Taking advantage of his fine serve,CLTA trainee Dipanshu Garg scored a shocking 7-6(4),6-3 win over second seed Manoj Sheoran in the first round in the boys’ U-18 singles category in the AMUL-AITA Talent Series Tennis Tournament being played at CLTA courts on Monday.

Playing a controlled game,Garg claimed the first set with a 7-6 (4) margin before claiming the second set with a 6-3 margin to advance into the second round of the championship. In another match in the same category,Harry Jindal of Punjab ended the challenge of Sohrab Kanwar of Punjab with a 6-3,7-6 (4). Jindal claimed the first set with a 6-3 margin before claiming the second set with a 7-6 (4) margin. It was a tough going for Aditya Sharma of Delhi as he scored a narrow 6-2,2-6,6-4 win over Nirbhay Singh Soin. Sharma claimed the first set with a 6-2 margin before losing the second set with a 2-6 margin. Sharma then claimed the third and final set with a 6-4 margin to storm into the second round. In another match in the same category,Mandeep Kumar of Chandigarh ended the challenge of Pranav Suri of Chandigarh with a 6-4,6-3 win.
