Police have arrested a married man who is a father of two children for raping a minor girl.
The girl was allegedly promised by the accused,Raju,a resident of Rajiv colony in the city,that he will marry her. She was taken by him to Ghaziabad in UP where she was repeatedly raped. The girl,a resident of Sector 16 in the city,was rescued by the police Thursday afternoon.
According to police a case has been registered against Raju,a labourer,at the Sector 14 police station. Investigation in the case is on.
Police officials said that nearly a month ago,the girl,who is 17 years old,was taken by Raju to Ghaziabad. She was kept there at a rented accommodation and repeatedly raped. She had gone with the accused after he had promised her that he will marry her.
However police said that Raju did not marry the girl and when the she realised that she was being duped on the promise of marriage,she told him that she wanted to go to her parental home.
On Thursday the girl was taken by Raju to Delhi where her parents were waiting for them. However after the girl was united with her family members,her father called up the police. A police party was already on way to Delhi from Panchkula and they reached the ISBT in Delhi where it arrested Raju late Thursday evening.
Police said that Raju,24, is the father of two children.
