Finance Secy accused of misbehaving with organisers of ‘wonder flight’ at Kalagram

In a complaint to UT Administrator and Punjab Governor General S F Rodrigues (Retd) and Chief Vigilance Officer Ram Niwas,Walia said when General Rodrigues boarded the sky lift around 8 pm on October 24,Sanjay Kumar,along with four security personnel,entered the venue and tried to barge into the restricted area. “Our security guard Anil Kumar respectfully told him that the flight with the governor and his wife on board was taking off and nobody was allowed to enter the restricted area till the flight returns to the ground due to security and safety reasons,” the complaint reads.

“Flouting the security and safety norms by paying no heed to the security guard,Sanjay Kumar and his security guards barged into the restricted area after breaching the security zone. One of the CCPL Hospitality’s senior staffers,Rajeev Chander,a retired Indian Air Force officer,immediately rushed towards the finance secretary along with another security guard Amardeep and apprised him about the security and safety concerns before making a humble request to them to wait outside in the lounge,” says the complaint.

“Infuriated,Finance Secretary Sanjay Kumar resorted to a shameful act and tried to slap Amardeep before dragging him out of the restricted area. At the gate,the officer pushed guard Anil Kumar and started using abusive language. CCPL staffers tried their best to pacify him,but the rude IAS officer resorted to using abusive language,even to female staffers. He created a ruckus in the waiting lounge and misbehaved with our security personnel,” the complaint adds.

While Walia,in his 10-page complaint to General Rodrigues,has levelled various other allegations too,Sanjay Kumar has denied any such incident.

Pleading innocence,Kumar said somebody was trying to tarnish his image. Kumar added that he didn’t even know any Kanwaljit Singh Walia.

The police and the Administration are yet to take any action on the complaint.
