The CII Secure North 2012 conference was held in Chandigarh on Thursday to showcase the latest products in the field of security and safety to large and small businesses, commercial organizations, institutions, market and resident welfare associations and governments and intelligence agencies.

The CII Secure North 2012 conference was held in Chandigarh on Thursday to showcase the latest products in the field of security and safety to large and small businesses, commercial organizations, institutions, market and resident welfare associations and governments and intelligence agencies.

The showcase by LG was one of the more popular exhibits. ‘Video Content Analysis’,a self assessing management solution by the company that it was displaying, provides a wide array of features that can make management simple and provides a wide variety of facilities, from intruder detection to object counting, tempering and object removal.

“It is fully automated, and should be able to reduce human interference to a minimum. LG’s system consists of a big screen on which one can attach 10 different hi tech LG cameras and view 10 different locations live at a time. The cost of the set-up depends on how big is the infrastructure,” said Deepak Gupta,Technical Support Manager,LG Electronics India Private Limited.

Blackbox is another unique device being exhibited at the conference, and has been designed to keep a track on the live location of vehicles with the help of GPS,GPRS,and transmit this information directly to one’s computer screen or mobile phone in micro seconds, which is likely to be useful to transport companies and corporates for whom Blackbox will make it possible to keep an eye on their drivers and vehicles.

“At a very reasonable cost, our device not only acts as a deterrent to the drivers to stray but also gives valuable insight to an owner to reduce cost and improve efficiency,” said Santveer Singh Bawa,Regional Manager,Blackbox, who also said that the company, besides having a good clientele in India,is also exporting to various places like Nigeria,Bangladesh and Thailand.

The Chandigarh Police Bomb Disposal Squad also showcased its technical equipment at the conference and put on display its fibre scope detectors, explosive vapor detectors, non linear junction detectors,remote-operated wire cutters, hand held metal detectors and stethoscopes used by the squad during operations.

The fire fighting motorbikes,The Blaze Buster by Aska Equipments, also attracted many visitors. “These bikes can easily extinguish fire in the narrow roads of Indian cities where big fire extinguisher engines cannot enter. They are based on German technology which utilises water so efficiently that 10 liters of water works just as well as 2,000 liters in a traditional fire extinguisher engine. The Punjab government has already bought 30 such bikes and the Haryana government has given an order of Rs 3 crore to us,” said Aska’s manager.
