The names of two accomplices of the prime accused in the case involving fraudulent admissions at Punjab Engineering College (PEC) have cropped up during CBI investigations in the case. The two Mahinder Bajaj and Kishore Yadav are residents of Hisar and conspired with the mastermind,Dr Nishikant,to get the students admitted in PEC on the basis of forged Nepalese identity cards. The CBI also said the two accomplices have links with the NITK,Surathkal, which made it easy for them to arrange the admissions as they knew the procedure well.
Pleading before the court to grant another seven days of custody of Nishikant, the CBI said they need to arrest Bajaj and Yadav. It said the custody of Nishikant is required as he needs to identify the two for their arrest. The court granted four-day custody of Nishikant.

Out of the 11 students arrested by the CBI,three were introduced to Nishikant by Bajaj and the money they took from the students was equally shared by them. Bajaj is married and has a daughter and three sons. He also moved an anticipatory bail plea in CBI Court today, which was rejected.
In his bail application,Bajaj pleaded innocence and said he has no knowledge of the case.
