Guntashveer hands CCA XI win over Karnal XI

A brilliant half-century by Guntashveer (88) and an all-round performance by Subham Rana propelled Chandigarh Cricket Association XI to an emphatic 88-run win over karnal XI in a match in the Minor District U-19 Cricket Tournament being organised by CCA (Affiliated to HCA) played at GSSS-19 on Saturday.

Batting first CCA posted a total of 274 for the loss of nine wickets in allotted 50 overs. Guntashveer played a scintillating knock of 88 runs. Rocky Junior played a knock of 52 runs while Subham Rana played a knock of 42 runs. For Karnal XI,Satyam claimed two wickets for 30 runs. In reply,Karnal XI were bowled out for a total of 186 runs in 34 overs. Rohit played a valiant knock of 80 runs while Satyam made 45 runs. Rana claimed two wickets for 32 runs for the winning team.

Brief scores : CCA XI : 274 for 9 in 50 overs (Gntashveer 88,Rocky Junior 52,Shubam rana 42,Satyam 2 for 30),Karnal XI : 186 all out in 34 overs (Rohit 80,Satyam 45,Gaurav Dhingra 4 for 30,Shubham Rana 2 for 32).

Bowlers hand BTS huge win
Disciplined spells of bowling each by Hunny (2 for 20) and Parvesh Sharma (2 for 20) guided BTS Cricket Academy to an emphatic six-wicket win over Guru Nanak Public School and Chandigarh Cricket Academy in the first match of the T-20 CCA CUP U-14 Cricket Tournament played on Saturday.

GNPS-CCA won the toss and elected to bat. Their decision to bat first backfired as they were bundled out for a paltry total of 91 runs in 19.5 overs. For BTS Cricket Academy,Hunny claimed two wickets for 20 runs. Chasing an easy target of 92 runs ,BTS Cricket Academy reached the target for the loss of four wickets in 19.3 overs. Hunny played an unbeaten knock of 34 runs.

Probables announced
The probables for the Chandigarh team which will take part in the First All India Cricket Tournament to be held at Amritsar were announced. The selected probables will attend a training camp from April 11 at Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 40.
