Postmortem reveals suicide note scribbled on womans body
Two days after a 35-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her Sector-41 residence,doctors conducting a postmortem found a suicide note scribbled on her thigh on Saturday. Illicit relations of her husband Subhash,who is an assistant audit officer in the Haryana AG office in Sector 33,is reason behind the suicide,the police said. Subhash,a woman Babita,along with her two brothers Anil and Pappu,who are residents of Allahabad,have been booked for abetment to suicide under Section 306 of the IPC. While Subhash has been arrested,a hunt for the others is on. Anujas body was spotted by her 11-year-old son on Thursday. The suicide note reads that she was physically and mentally harassed by her husband owing to his extra marital relations. The girls father submitted a complaint today acting on which the police registered a case.
Housing project gets gold rating from Environment ministry
A housing project by Mumbai-based Bhoomi Infrastructure Company Bhoomi Greens – Amazon – The Defence County has got a gold rating from the Environment ministry for the projects eco-friendly features. The project is coming up in Sector 30,Panchkula,around two kilometers from the Panchkula Golf Course along NH 73 – Nada Saheb Gurdawara – Ramgarh road,opposite Sector 25. The company recently announced that preliminary construction at the site has begun from January 14 and the project has been approved for home loans by Canara Bank.
Accident case: Man gets 4 years in jail
A man was sentenced to four years in jail in connection with an accident case on Saturday. The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Ravi Kumar Sondhi sentenced Sukhwinder to rigorous imprisonment under Section 304-II (culpable homicide not amounting to murder). The case dates back to December 2008 when biker Sushil Kumar,a Manimajra resident,was crushed to death by Sukhwinder,who was driving a three-wheeler. Sukhwinder was taking the injured to the hospital in his vehicle when he realised that the victim was already dead. He then threw the body in the bushes behind the Sector-32 hospital. On the basis of control room records,the police caught Sukhwinder who is a resident of Rajpura.
Mohali youth held with smack
A resident of Phase XI here,Vijay Kumar,in his mid-20s,was arrested on charges of drug peddling after 5 grams of smack was recovered from his possession in Sector 71 on Saturday,Sub-Inspector Fateh Faqir Singh told Newsline. According to the police ,a secret informer had told the police that the accused used to sell narcotics to school and college students. A case under Sections 21,61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against the accused.
ITBP Frontier celebrates raising day
The NW Frontier,ITBP,celebrated its raising day at the Behlana camp near the airport on Saturday. The frontier was established in 2007. Inspector General Rajdeep Singh gave away the DGs insignia and commendation letter to officers. R S Pathania spoke on the frontiers activities while Rajdeep Singh congratulated the awardees.
