For now,PGI sanitation staff to wear grey uniform
The uniform row at the PGI,between the nursing staff and the contractual health workers, has settled for the time being as the contractual staff has resorted to their old grey uniform instead of the new uniform issued to them. The nurses, who took up the matter with the hospital authorities on Tuesday, said they were satisfied that there was no longer any confusion in the dressing code among the staff as the workers resorted to wear the older uniform to work on Wednesday. The nurses objected that the striking similarity of green colour between the two uniforms would create confusion in the minds of the patients and were also prone to be misused. No official word about the changes in the uniform has come so far from the authorities. “Though the MS office has not reacted so far,we are happy that the contractual staff themselves came in their older uniforms today. There was no confusion,” said a nurse at the hospital.
