Inquiry against state youth board head

Following a report in The Indian Express,Punjab Chief Election Commissioner Kusumjit Sidhu has marked an inquiry against chairman of the Punjab Youth Development Board Gurpreet Singh Raju Khanna for making announcements about the transport policy. Khanna had made these announcements in a press conference held in Ludhiana on March 18.

The report will be submitted to Deputy Commissioner Vikas Garg,who also happens to be the Chief Election Commissioner of Ludhiana. Notably,Khanna had announced that new transport policy was “on the anvil”,as per which private bus owners would also have to issue special passes to students on the lines of the State Transport Department.

He had also told that an 11-member committee would be set up to discuss students’ problems.
