The Institution of Engineers Sector 19,on Thursday,marked World Telecommunication Society Day by organising a panel discussion and few lectures on the theme Women and Girls in ICT (Information Communication Technology).
Renu Vig,Director of University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET),Panjab University,presented an analysis of status and role of women in the Indian IT Sector. Citing examples of women working in leading companies like Infosys and TCS,Vig informed that the industry constitutes 32.4 per cent woman workforce at present. BSNL to increase mobile
capacity in Haryana,NCR
Ambala: BSNL has initiated an ambitious plan for installation of about 1,175 2G and 3G BTSs in the NCR area covering Faridabad,Gurgaon,Sonepat and Rohtak SSAs to mark the celebration of the World Telecom Day on Thursday. Haryana BSNL Chief General Manager Pradeep Nagpal said that this would add mobile capacity of around 88,000 in the Haryana Mobile network. The customers will also have excellent data download facility in these areas which will be about four times the speed,presently available, he added.
