Jetsun Pema

A royal wedding,specially the bride,always catches the world’s attention. Last week,the spotlight was on Jetsun Pema,the 21-year-old childhood sweetheart of Bhutanese King,Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck,and now the newly crowned Queen of Bhutan. Pema is a commoner who studied briefly at the Lawrence School in Sanawar,Himachal Pradesh. For wedding ceremony,the coy bride was togged in a traditional albeit colourful Bhutanese bridal ensemble and looked elegant and fresh. “Jetsun Pema is a kind-hearted girl who is very supportive and whom I can trust,” the King had announced in a national TV broadcast. We would like to see more of her.
