Man in 70s killed by neighbour in Mohali

A Septuagenarian bachelor was pushed to death at Roorki Kham village in Mohali late last evening. The victim Parkash Singh’s neighbour Jatinder Singh,in his early 20s,hit him on his chest over a verbal duel.

A Septuagenarian bachelor was pushed to death at Roorki Kham village in Mohali late last evening. The victim Parkash Singh’s neighbour Jatinder Singh,in his early 20s,hit him on his chest over a verbal duel,the police said here today. Jatinder was arrested and sent to 14-day judicial remand by a local court this evening,the police said. The victim’s nephew Avtar Singh reported to the police that his uncle was a bachelor and used to live alone in his house. “Last evening,I went to see my uncle,who was doing well,and in the meantime,Jatinder came there and after arguing with my uncle over some petty issue,he all of a sudden hit my uncle with his leg,following which my uncle fell down,” revealed Avtar.

Parkash was rushed to the hospital,where the doctors declared him dead on arrival. Preliminary police investigations have ruled out any old rivalry or dispute between both the parties. The police have booked the accused for culpable homicide not amounting to murder under Section 304 of IPC.
