Man’s body found hanging from tree

On Tuesday,the UT Police recovered the body of a man hanging from a tree in the forest area of Maloya. Police officials said that the body was hanging by a nylon thread. No one has claimed the body yet.

The police officials said that a resident of Maloya had informed the police about the body. “As per the doctors,the body was nearly 25-days-old. It was totally decomposed and was eaten by the animals. The post-mortem of the body was conducted and the cause was death was ascertained as death due to asphyxia by hanging,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) South,Surjit Singh Mailk.

He added that the body was of a middle aged male wearing blue jeans and a cotton shirt. “The body was beyond identification. The viscera of the deceased has been sent to Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory (CFSL) for the actual cause of death,” DSP added.
