National spokesperson of BJP and Rajya Sabha MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Saturday stated that the attempt at a Cabinet reshuffle by the Congress-led central government was in vain. It would fail to refurbish the image of the government. He added that the government had lost the mandate, with even the allies leaving it.

Rudy said that the two things in favour of the PM was his credibility as an economist and his honesty. Both have taken a beating in this tenure. He promised a growth rate of 9 per cent, which is now 5.2 per cent. Rudy further said there was monumental corruption with scams like 2G,Commonwealth Games,Adarsh Society and Coalgate. He said while for all other scams Congress put the blame on other people,in Coalgate the allocation of the coal blocks was done by the PM under his signatures.

short article insert On the defensive over the allegations on BJP president Nitin Gadkari,Rudy said that the party would stand by him. Talking about the elections in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat,Rudy said that the party would win elections in both the states. He stated that the central government always discriminated against BJP-ruled state governments. In Himachal Pradesh,he said, the quota of rice and sugar distributed through the public distribution system was reduced to half. The industrial package that was given to the state till 2014 was withdrawn in 2010. There is no big airport, nor has the rail connectivity increased. He added that while the HP government demanded Rs 150 crore for the national highways, just Rs 5 crore was provided.

Referring to Himachal PCC president Virbhadra Singh,Rudy said the person chosen to lead the Congress in the elections is the one who has numerous corruption charges against him. He said the manifesto of the Congress is corruption.

Rudy said that the government is protecting the governments in the states that are doling out favours to the Gandhi family. Naming Haryana and Rajasthan,he said the unpopular governments were being protected by Congress as they favoured Robert Vadra,son-in-law of UPA chief Sonia Gandhi.

He added that the rationing of cylinders has legitimized black marketing. Combined with the increase in fuel prices it would be sufficient to sink the government.
