Mother,daughter assaulted in Mohali

Balveer has reportedly told police that she was with her daughter in her house when Lakhveer Singh and his brothers,Raju and Avtar Singh,who live in the same village,started abusing them without any provocation.

“When I asked them what was the matter,they stormed into the house and attacked us. Before leaving,they snatching my mobile phone and gold earrings,” Balveer said. Balveer’s husband Amar Singh was away for some work when the incident took place.

The injured have been admitted in PGIMER in Chandigarh. In the second incident,Mahesh Singh sustained injuries when three residents of his colony — Barmajra Colony,near Mohali — attacked him with a knife. The accused reportedly came to Mahesh’s house to enquire about some person. “When I said I do not know anything,they started beating me. Then Harinder Singh stabbed me,” Mahesh,who is admitted in GMCH-32,said. Separate cases of assault,robbery,house trespass and causing injuries have been registered against the accused,who are absconding,the police said.
