When it comes to the restaurant business, there are two kinds that do really well. One is where you get theme-based food – it could be all-Oriental fare or all-Mughlai and the likes. The other is where you get everything. While you could tuck into a Pasta Arabiata, the wife can relish Murg Tandoori and the kids can choose their Chinese line-up. It’s in this latter type of restaurants where the all-new Voodoo’s Zaika sees itself fitting in. For the unaware,Voodoo is a popular club in Sector 26.
“The aim is to offer everything and even something that’s not on the menu,” mentioned the restaurant’s all-new executive chef Brajesh Ghansiyal who has worked extensively on the menu. “We offer not just Indian Mughlai fare but also Chinese and Continental,” informed the Chef as we flipped through the over ten pages of a menu. From the starters to the soups, main course to the desserts, there are umpteen options for dishes from all three kinds of cuisines. Be it then the traditional Greek salad tossed in oregano and basil dressing (Rs 80) or a Tandoori Chicken Salad (Rs 120) to even a ‘Chowpati fruit chaat salad’ (Rs 110)…it’s multiple choice all the way. It’s also here that you can order shredded chilli potato,Cheese and Pepper Bruschetta and Fish Amritsari all together at one time! “The exhaustive menu apart we also offer special buffet spreads,” general manager Alok Bhardwaj pitches in with more details. There’s the ‘Big Salad Buffet’,’Dessert Buffet’ to the all encompassing buffet. “The buffet comes with a free drink, which could be a refreshing beer, wine or a soft drink,” Bhardwaj adds.
With a new menu for the buffet everyday, the restaurant is looking to tap working professionals as well. “Even in the Indian cuisine we have brought in popular Punjabi,Mughlai,Kashmiri and Hyderabadi dishes,” points out Chef Ghansiyal who has also worked out a special kids menu. “Children are fussy eaters and to help them enjoy their meals out we have worked out a special menu with small portion sizes,” we hear the Chef tell us. The restaurant also packs in a bar that offers a variety of Indian and imported liquor and wine as well as a range of mocktails and cocktails. It’s a full house indeed!
