‘No parchi-kharchi:’ Haryana CM says 1.8L govt jobs given on merit

The CM also felicitated meritorious students and acknowledged the contributions of generous donors.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said the incumbent BJP government provided government jobs to 1.80 lakh youths “purely on merit and without ‘parchi-kharchi’ (nepotism and sifarish)”.

Speaking at the 75th foundation day celebration of Saini Shikshan Sansthan, the chief minister said, “Government schools have been offering free coaching to meritorious students, alongside a range of scholarship schemes. Under the Super-100 programme, 534 students have successfully cleared competitive exams such as IIT and NEET.”

Saini said, “Education is a powerful tool to uplift the backwards sections of society. And, in line with that vision, the government has implemented 27 per cent reservation in educational institutions and public sector jobs.”

The CM said, “For children from backwards class families with an annual income up to Rs 3 lakh, the government is offering education loans of up to Rs 15 lakh for studies in India and Rs 20 lakh for studies abroad at an annual interest rate of 4 per cent. Students from families earning less than Rs 1.80 lakh annually have been exempted from school fees up to Class XII, and college and university fees for daughters from such families have also been waived.”

The chief minister noted, “The government facilitated the enrolment of 2,650 underprivileged children into recognised private schools. Under the Vidyarthi Parivahan Suraksha Yojna, 35,000 students from Classes I to XII are receiving free transport, while 6,506 girl students from classes IX to XII are benefiting from the Chhatraa Parivahan Suraksha Yojana.”

The CM also felicitated meritorious students and acknowledged the contributions of generous donors.

Saini further stated, “Atal Tinkering Labs have been established in all 22 districts of Haryana, and over 5,000 schools now have Wi-Fi connectivity. To advance digital education, the government has distributed 5 lakh tablets to students in Classes X to XII, installed digital boards in approximately 40,000 classrooms, and set up 1,201 Information and Communication Technology laboratories. A Functional Literacy and Numeracy programme has been launched for students in classes one to three to strengthen foundational learning.”

The CM said, “Through the National Skills Qualification Framework, schools are now equipping students with practical skills, with the system already implemented in 1,001 institutions. The state has also established 1,420 Government Model Sanskriti Primary Schools and 218 Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary Schools. Under the PM Shri School Scheme, 250 PM Shri Schools have been opened across Haryana.”
