‘Officers should implement govt policies efficiently’

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Wednesday said that it was the responsibility of the officers to implement policies,programmes and the schemes of the government in an effective manner to ensure development.

Interacting with a group of 30 officers of Bihar Civil Service,who are on a two-week mid service training at Haryana Institute of Public Administration in Gurgaon,Hooda said that if there was transparency in the implementation of schemes and procedures and action was taken within the specified time period,it helps in accelerating the pace of development.

The chief minister also advised them to listen to the problems faced by the people and try to redress their grievances. Putting forth the example of Haryana,Hooda said that the state’s Plan Budget has gone up from about Rs 2,200 crore in 2005 to over Rs 20,000 crore in the current financial year. Haryana,which was at 14th position when it came to per capita investment,has now emerged as number 1 in the country.
