Riding high on Sgt Prabhakar’s hat-trick,Western Air Command thrashed Eastern Air Command 5-0 to enter the finals of Air Force Inter-Command Hockey Championship being played at Sector 42 Sports Complex,on Saturday.
Prabhakar opened the account for WAC in the 19th minute through a penalty corner. LAC Brar then scored in the 30th and 50th minute to put the team on top. Prabhakar was in top form as he foxed the EAC custodian to covert a penalty in the 65th minute. He then scored his third goal of the match in the 66th minute to hand WAC an easy win.
Meanwhile,in the second semi-final,Southern Western Air Command earned a hard-fought win over Training Command by a solitary goal that helped them see through to the finals. Sgt Saini came up with the winner during the second half of the extra time.
The final match will be played on July 19 between SWAC and WAC.
