PU Institute of Health gets hi-tech X-ray,ECG machines

Bhai Ghanaiya Ji Institute of Health in Panjab University has gone hi-tech with the installation of the latest version of digital 500mA X- ray machine with computerised radiography unit and mammographic compatibility. Vice-Chancellor Professor R C Sobti inaugurated the facility on Thursday.

Bhai Ghanaiya Ji Institute of Health in Panjab University (formerly known as PU Health Centre) has gone hi-tech with the installation of the latest version of digital 500mA X- ray machine with computerised radiography unit and mammographic compatibility. Vice-Chancellor Professor R C Sobti inaugurated the facility on Thursday.

He also inaugurated the latest model of fully computerised Schiller”s ECG machine installed in a fully renovated treatment room equipped with all relevant equipment to deal with emergency cases.

Besides,the institute acquired an ambulance for further strengthening of the existing 24×7 Emergency Services for university patients.

This ambulance was donated by Prof Pajni of zoology department. Stating that “there is still tremendous scope for improvement in infrastructure”,Sobti suggested that LCD/DVD should replace the existing TV screen,which would be useful while making presentations for transmitting information and creating awareness about various diseases. He also suggested air-conditioning of the X-ray room and other vital areas of patient care.

Others present on the occasion were Dean University Instruction Prof BS Brar; Dean Arts Faculty Prof BS Ghuman; and Secretary to Vice-Chancellor Prof S K Sharma; Chief Medical Officer Dr Devinder Dhawan; Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr Rakesh Khullar; Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr BS Lal and and all staff members of the institute and other PU employees.
