Riding high on a brilliant century by Kapil Punia (117),APJ Academy,Kharar stormed into the final of the Satluj Summer Cricket Tournament scoring a massive 92-run win over Delhi Public School,Pinjore in the second semi-final played at Satluj Public School on Tuesday. APJ Academy,Kharar won the toss and elected to bat first.
APJ Academy,Kharar scored a massive total of 255 for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 25 overs. Kapil Punia played a superb innings of 117 runs flaying the opposition bowlers all over the park. He was ably assisted by Shivam Bhandari who played a fine knock of 75 runs.
Chasing a stiff target of 256 in the allotted 25 overs,Delhi Public School were bundled out for 163 in 22.1 overs. Abhishek was the top scorer for his team as he played a knock of 41 runs while Rohit contributed 30 runs. Rajat made 19 runs. For the winning team,Parteek claimed three wickets for 24 runs while Sahil claimed three wickets for 31 runs.

U-16 cricket trials tomorrow
ChandigarhChandigarh Cricket Association (affiliated to Haryana) will conduct trials to select the Chandigarh U-16 boys’ team for participation in the upcoming inter-districts at Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 19 on May 14 at 2.30 pm in Chandigarh. According to Surinder Singh Baijee,general secretary,Chandigarh Cricket Association,players born on or after September 1,1993 are eligible for the trials. Association will be selecting 25 boys for its month-long conditioning camp.
