Punjab Shahi Imam wants new Deoband VC by tomorrow

Breaking his silence over the ongoing controversy of Vice Chancellor of Muslim University Darul Uloom,Deoband in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh,the Shahi Imam of Punjab and National President of Majlis Ahrar Islam Hind,Maulana Habib Ur Rehman Sani Ludhianavi,today said that Shoora (executive body) is respsonible for the present crisis in the Muslim university.

While addressing a press conference here at Jama Masjid,he said,“The Shoora should appoint the new Vice Chancellor by February 23 but the new VC should not be of either of the two groups i.e. from Madni and Vastanvi groups. The new Vice Chancellor should be a religious muslim scholar with no political background. If the Shoora failed to do so,Muslims from all over India will reach Deoband and follow the path of agitation,for which the Shoora will be held responsible,” he warned

He also said,“We appeal to all the students studying over there to let the Executive Board work on its own.”
