Rahul of St Soldier Convent High School raced to glory as he claimed the top spot with a timing of 13.30 seconds in the 100 meters event in the U-14 boys’ category on the opening day of the Chandigarh State Athletics Championship which started at Sports Complex,Sector 7. Vidur of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 35 claimed the second spot clocking a time of 13.40 seconds while Vishal of Government Model Senior Secondary School claimed the third spot with a timing of 13.50 seconds.

In the boys’ Under-14 shot-put event,Sachin Kumar of Chandigarh Baptists School claimed the top spot with a throw of 9.06 meters while Navin Kumar,also of Chandigarh Baptist School claimed the second spot with a throw of 6.34 meters. Harsh Walia of Chandigarh Baptist School claimed the third spot with a throw of 5.42 meters. In the boys’ Under-16 100 meters event,Simranjeet Singh of St Soldier Convent High School claimed the top spot with a timing of 12.30 seconds while Sandeep of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector-35 grabbed the second spot with a timing of 12.36 seconds. Pranav Bansal of Bal Niketan School,Sector 37 claimed the third spot with a timing of 12.40 seconds.

In the boys’ U-16 400 meters race,Gagandeep Singh of Sports Complex,Sector 46 claimed the top spot with a timing of 57.30 seconds. Akshay Bansal of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 35 claimed the second spot with a timing of 1 minute and 5 seconds. The third spot was claimed by Shubham Gupta of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 35. In the 3000 meters race in the same category,Vikas of St Soldier Convent High School claimed the top spot with a timing of 11 minutes and 34.50 seconds. Rishab Rana of St Stephen School claimed the second spot with a timing of 11 minutes and 53 seconds. In the girls’ U-16 years 100 meters race,Manjeet Kaur of DAV Public School,Sector 15 claimed the top spot with a timing of 13.90 seconds while Kiranpreet Kaur of Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 40 claimed the second spot with a timing of 14 seconds. Mansi of Sports Complex,Sector 7 claimed the third spot. In the 400 meters race,Varsha Sharma of St Soldier Convent High School,Sector 28 with a timing of one minute and 6.10 seconds while Puneet Kaur of St Soldier Convent High School claimed the second spot with a timing of one minute and 7.70 seconds.
