General Secretary Maheshinder Singh Grewal and Secretary and spokesman D Daljit Singh Cheema also told Quraishi that the decision of the Election Commission to withhold the abolition of octroi was a gross injustice to not only the common man,but also to thousands of state petrol-pump dealers. They also raised the issue of appointment of H S Kandola as Returning Officer of Lambi alleging that the officer is related to a leader closely associated with the state Congress Chief and demanded his immediate transfer to which the CEC agreed.
