Sanya,Pankhuri bring laurels

Sanya Chadha and Pankhuri Garg of the Hallmark Public School,Sector 15,Panchkula,claimed silver medal in the Sub-Junior National Carrom Championship held at Faridabad. Hallmark Public School emerged winners in multifarious events. Besides that they represented school in the On the Spot Painting Competition and bagged prizes. They also won the best performance award in a play related to female foeticide,while Pankhuri was awarded for excellent performance in the EDU Olympiad too.

Collective effort help Chandigarh win

CHANDIGARH: Half-centuries each from Satyam (53) and Kartvya (54) and a superb all-round show from Parvesh Sharma (24 and 4 for 31) helped Chandigarh District thrash Yamunanagar by 191 runs in the 1st Rajinder Goel Under-16 cricket tournament played at GMSSS-19 on Saturday. Chandigarh won the toss and batted first. Some magnificent batting performances from their batsmen helped Chandigarh post 280 in 49 overs. Satyam smashed 53 off 59 deliveries while Kartvya scored 54 off 92 deliveries. Sahib Ahmed took three wickets for the bowling side. In reply,Yamunanagar batsmen failed to get going against a disciplined Chandigarh bowling attack and were all out for 89 in 26 overs. Parvesh and Ramandeep bowled beautiful spells to dismiss the opposition team cheaply.
