Riding high on Talwinderjeet Singh’s all-round performance (90 and 2 for 10),St Stephen’s School-45,Chandigarh,registered a comprehensive 153-run win over Holy Child School,Morni,and assured theselves a semifinal spot in the Satluj Under-17 Winter Champions Trophy at Satluj Public School,Sector 4,on Tuesday.

On winning the toss,formidable St Stephen’s School-45,Chandigarh scored a massive total of 248 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted quota of 25 overs. Talwinderjeet Singh plundered boundaries throughout the ground in his sparkling knock of 90. Batting with calm and control,Talwinderjeet Singh steered his team to a mammoth total. Jagpreet Chanana contributed 53 runs to the team’s total score.

In reply to the huge total,Holy Child School,Morni were skitteld out for 95. Rishu Chopra bowled superbly to rattle Morni school,and grabbed four wickets. Gaurav Singh (2 for 22) and Talwinderjeet Singh (2 for 10) were other wicket takers.
