BJP general secretary and in charge of Punjab affairs Balbir Punj today lashed out at the Congress,saying that the UPA was falling like a house of cards. He said the Congress allies,RJD,NCP and Lok Jan Shakti Party,were singing different tunes,vindicating that the alliance was opportunistic.
Punj,while commenting on Varuns hate speech at Pilibhit,said he was being victimised and framed. Why Section 307 of the IPC was slapped on him? He has not attacked anyone, he said.
Addressing mediapersons,Punj,flanked by party candidate Navjot Singh Sidhu,MLA Anil Joshi,former minister Baldev Raj Chawla and BJP district head Col Amrik Singh (retd),said corruption had increased manifold under UPAs regime and Global Corruption Reception Index has put India on 85th position.
He said 3,898 persons died in terrorist activities in India from 2004 till today,and the number is highest in the world after Iraq.
He said while the Indias coastal line defence was waiting for funds,the UPA government was liberally doling out grants to madrasas and Haj pilgrims trips. He said the UPA must come clean on tainted defence deal with Israel for which a commission of Rs 600 crore was paid.
