With the aim of facilitating applicants who are applying for re-issue of passports, the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) will introduce a walk-in service from September 1. Applicants under the jurisdiction of the Regional Passport Office,Chandigarh, would not be required to take an appointment for submitting their applications for re-issue of their passport.

Till now the walk-in service was available only to those applying under the Tatkaal scheme. It would now be available to those applying for re-issue under the normal category. The applicants would be required to register their details at the online portal http://www.passportindia.gov.in and upload the application form, after which the Application Reference Number (ARN) would be generated. This would be required to be done at least a day ahead of the visit to the PSK. The applicant can then visit the PSK before 1 pm with the printout of the ARN sheet and the requisite documents.
