Two days after Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring entered the Vidhan Sabha wearing a T-shirt with news clippings printed on it, self-proclaimed Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh of 'Waris Punjab De' organisation reached the PPCC chief's constituency Gidderbaha for a “Holla Mohalla” programme. Amritpal Singh was in Baddian village of Gidderbaha constituency in Muktsar district on March 8 afternoon to take part in a “Holla Mohalla” programme organised by supporters of 'Waris Punjab De'. While addressing the gathering, Amritpal Singh said, “In the Vidhan Sabha, a few people are talking about my arrest. This assembly session has been convened for budget, but the talk is only about my arrest. I am not scared of any arrests. A lot of hue and cry about Punjab's law and order is being made. But when a “Nihang” was killed in Anandpur Sahib, not many were bothered. Had the shoe been on the other foot, “Nihangs” would have been defamed by now.” One of the news clippings printed on Warring's T-shirt was about Amritpal Singh and his supporters storming Ajnala police station. Targeting Warring directly, Amritpal Singh said, “This programme is in Warring's constituency, I just got to know. He was talking a lot about law and order, but he couldn't check the rampant drug addiction issue in his own constituency due to which many addicts are indulging in criminal activities.” Amritpal Singh added, “Politicians are using Sidhu Moosewala's family for their political gains which is very unfortunate. I will meet the family soon.” On the occasion, 60 people took part in the “Amrit Sanchar” ceremony in the presence of Amritpal Singh, who even advised people to keep long hair and start tying turbans on their head. Amritpal Singh and his supporters had caught the attention of Punjab when they stormed the Ajnala police station recently to get their aide Lovepreet Singh Toofan released. However, no FIR has been lodged by police in this case till now. Amritpal Singh along with a few others however had been booked under Section 365 and 379-B(2) of the IPC on February 16 by Ajnala police following a complaint filed by one Varinder Singh of Chamkaur Sahib that he had been kidnapped from outside the Damdami Taksal in Ajnala on February 15. He had alleged that he was taken in an SUV in Jandiala where Amritpal Singh and his supporters had thrashed him. Varinder Singh had made some objectionable remarks on Amritpal Singh on social media before this incident, revealed details of that FIR. Incidentally, Warring himself was in Gidderbaha on March 8, but he was busy attending social functions. Warring even posted a video of meeting his maternal grandmother on March 8 to mark International Women's Day.
