The sequel of Wohti and Wife called Wohti and Wife Returns was performed at Tagore Theater on Sunday. Written and directed by Rakesh Manjhi,the plot of the play had a heavy dose of comedy. The play highlighted the evils of dowry,fake doctors and casting couch issues in the world of glamour.
Mundke,the central character of the play,is a servant in a middle-class family,who came as a part of dowry with Leena. The story starts with a quarrel between Leena and and her husband,Ravi Verma,as both of them accuse each other on various issues. The plot further thickens with the introduction of Nimmo,who aspires to become an actress.
Highlighting the aspirations of a middle-class person of India,Prem has been shown as a character who wants to become an actor in Bollywood. A character called Lovely has been put in the plot,who cheats people with her romantic talk and style. The issue of fake doctors in society was also shown.
In the end of the play,Nimmos film becomes a super hit but after getting a taste of success in the film industry,she realizes that the glamour world is a well of mud and her conscience did not allow her to be retained in the industry as every man tried to exploit her. She then decides to marry the producer of the film.
