A local woman,allegedly being harassed by a local businessman,Tuesday accused Station House Officer,Sector 36,of pressurizing her to enter into a compromise with the accused.
An affidavit,levelling the allegations,was filed on Tuesday by the woman,a physiotherapist by profession. A vacation bench,on April 16,had directed the Inspector-General of Police to ensure police protection is given to the woman. The complainant had got an FIR registered under Sections 384 (extortion) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation).
The woman also alleged that Chandigarh Police even summoned her counsel,Advocate H C Arora,in a condescending manner. Summons were sent by the police,earlier this week,asking Arora to appear before the police authorities.
The woman has alleged she is being asked to submit particulars of all her telephone numbers by the police. Taking the affidavit on record,the high court adjourned the case till May 16.
