Woman held with narcotics

A resident of Khoonimajra village in Mohali,Baljeet Kaur,in her late 30s,was arrested on the charges of drug peddling and the local police claimed to have recovered 80 grams of opium and 250 grams of poppy husk from her possession. IO Barma Singh said on a tip-off,the woman was caught near Khoonimajra village when she was returning back home with the contraband,which she had procured to be sold at exorbitant rates. On search,she was found possessing the narcotics,claimed the IO,while informing that the accused was recently released after serving 6 months jail term in another case of drug peddling. After being arrested for offences punishable under Sections 15,18,61 and 85 of the NDPS Act,the woman was produced before the Magistrate Shikha Goel,who remanded her to judicial custody till August 30,added the IO.
