A knock of 59 runs off 61 balls by Yovraj went into vain as Yadavindra Public School,Mohali lost by seven runs to hosts The British School,Sector 48 in a league match of the First Hot Weather U-14 Cricket Tournament being played at the British School,Sector 48 on Monday.
After winning the toss,the hosts elected to bat first. Batting first,they posted a total of 125 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Parvesh was the top scorer for the team as he played a knock of 31 runs. Chasing a target of 126 runs in the allotted 20 overs,Yadavindra public School could manage a total of 118 runs for the loss of four wickets. Yovraj played a fluent knock of 59 runs but his effort went into vain. For the winning team,Shubham claimed three wickets for 34 runs. In another match of the day,Green Field Cricket Academy scored an emphatic 120-run win over Police DAV Cricket Academy,Patiala. Batting first,Green Field Cricket Academy posted a total of 174 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Chasing a stiff target of 175 runs,Police DAV Cricket Academy were bundled out for a total of 55 runs in 11.4 overs.
