Delhi University launched its Facebook page after a fortnights build-up on Monday. Soon after the launch,117 people liked it,a number that went up to 952 by late evening.
The page was launched by V-C Dinesh Singh at South Campus.
The link is available on the Universitys website: http://www.du.ac.in. Visitors to the page can find detailed information on various aspects of the university here.
Delhi University also launched the e-Open Days module on Monday on its website, where videos of the Open Days will be streamed.
Incidentally, the logs show that the first post made to the page was on March 14,leading to the assumption that the page has been in existence even before it was officially launched.
The administrator posted,Your Views on Semester System are invited. To which there are no comments.
The first like came only on April 13,for an image of a group of students. The first comment came on Monday, with someone asking,How many questions are in bed (BEd) entrance and which type of these questions are (sic)?
Most of the questions on the first day were about cut-offs. Confused about the concept,an aspirant wanted to know how to calculate cut-offs on her own (colleges will declare cut-offs for each course the first cut-off list for each course offered by every college except St Stephens and Jesus and Mary will be published on June 15). There were also questions about the calculation of the best of four marks.
While officials in-charge responded to several questions, many also remained unanswered. There were also queries that were unclear. sir im frm comm strem nd nw i want to pursue ba(prog) will there be any deduction in my deduction, asked an applicant.
The replies, too, were at times vague. To a question on calculating the best four subjects for BSc (Hons) Chemistry, the reply was,Only PCM but there may be a rider on english as qualifying say above 60% or something like that.
As the administrator did not refer to the person whose query was being answered,a visitor is forced to sift through all questions and answers to match the related.
