The AAP on Saturday sharpened its attack on the BJP and its CM candidate Kiran Bedi. It once again questioned the BJP’s intention to field Bedi from Krishna Nagar.
At a public meeting in Gautam Nagar, which falls in Malviya Nagar constituency, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and Malviya Nagar candidate Somnath Bharti addressed the audience just a few blocks away from Bedi’s residence in Uday Park.
Kerjriwal said, “On February 10, the BJP will lose. How will the BJP explain its loss? It will say that Kiran Bedi is responsible for the defeat. I respect her a lot and don’t know why she does not understand this small thing, or why she is letting herself get involved in a political conspiracy.”
Former Delhi law minister Bharti said, “The area on the right side of this stage is where Bedi resides. I hope our voice is reaching her.”
“Despite living here, she is not contesting from Malviya Nagar or New Delhi constituency. She chose to contest from a seat which is considered to be a BJP stronghold,” Bharti said.
Alleging that despite Bedi’s induction into the BJP ranks, the party has not concentrated on issues facing Delhi, Bharti added, “Will the BJP, after Bedi’s joining, reduce corruption? There is no talk about these issues. Will they reduce power tariffs? If not, what has changed with Bedi’s induction?”
