CISF joins hands with IGNOU

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Monday signed an MoU with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for higher education of its officers and personnel in the field of security operations.

CISF spokesperson Rohit Katiyar said the new initiative would be within the broad framework set down by the IGNOU through registration of the National Industrial Security Academy and CISF Regional Training Centres. CISF Director General N R Das said: “I have observed that a large number of our personnel come from rural and humble backgrounds. This programme will be highly beneficial to them.”

IGNOU V-C Prof V N Rajsekharan Pillai said the initiative would provide an opportunity to CISF personnel to pursue higher studies in the highly professional and fast expanding field of security operations.
