Scared of being scolded by parents for failing to clear Class 10 exams, three friends – aged 14, 15, and 16 – ran away from their homes on Tuesday. Two days later, they were found at the Meerut City railway station in Uttar Pradesh by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Delhi Police Crime Branch.
All students of Tagore Senior Secondary School in Delhi’s Mayapuri, the three were reported missing from their respective homes in Inder Puri and West Sagarpur in Delhi, the police said on Friday.
The AHTU team found the boys on Thursday at Meerut City station, on board a train plying between Amritsar to Mumbai.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Vikram Singh said, “The three boys study in the same class and in the same school. They failed in some subjects and scared of being scolded by their parents, they left home together.” They have been reunited with their families, he added.
