A couple has been arrested on charges of killing the woman’s friend. Police said the accused — Zameer Khan and his wife Shabbo Begum — first stabbed Salim (25) then they cut his body into several pieces,stuffed them in two gunny bags and threw it in a Ghaziabad forest.

According to police,Shabbo was in a relationship with Salim and when Khan came to know of it he decided to kill the 25-year-old garment trader. Khan asked his wife to call Salim to their house and threatened to divorce her if she did not assist him in the murder plan.

The arrests came after Salim’s father,Nazz Mian,lodged a missing complaint at the Seemapuri police station on June 17.

Police said during investigation they found that Salim had taken a part of Khan’s house on rent a month ago. He used this portion as a storeroom for readymade garments. “When Khan and his wife were questioned,we found discrepncies in their statement. They later admitted to the crime,” said Sanjay Jain,Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast).

The mutilated remains of Salim’s body were recovered from a forest adjoining the Indirapuram area in Ghaziabad.

Begum reportedly told the the police that she came in contact with Salim when she bought some clothes from him.

“They started talking to each other on phone. She asked her husband to rent a portion of the house to Salim. They used to meet whenever Khan was out of the house. After Khan came to know about his wife’s affair he threatened to divorce her and asked her if she would help him eliminate Salim. Begum agreed to kill Salim,” said the officer.

On Friday,Shabbo asked Salim to visit her house,where Khan was hiding with a butcher’s knife,police said. “After Salim came,Khan stabbed him. Shabo also took a knife and slit his throat. They then cut his body in seven pieces and stuffed them in two gunny bags and dumped them in Indirapuram forest,” said Jain.

Police have recovered the gunny bags and the knife used in the crime.
