The polls in Delhi saw a three-way competition between the Aam Aadmi Party, Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress, with 699 candidates in fray across 70 assembly constituencies.

The exit polls, released on Wednesday, predicted a landslide victory for the BJP in the Delhi election, while AAP is expected to fall short of majority. The Congress party, however, is predicted to get 1-2 seats in the assembly polls.

Counting date and time
The counting of votes for Delhi election 2025 is set to begin at 7 am on Saturday, February 8. Counting is expected to conclude by 6 pm, while the early trends and seat-wise winners are declared throughout the day.
Delhi has a total of over 1.5 crore voters, however, the final voter turnout in the capital stood at 60.42 percent, as per Election Commission data at 11:30 pm on Wednesday.

Key seats, candidates to watch out for
New Delhi: In the Delhi assembly election, all eyes will remain on the New Delhi constituency, which is witnessing a three-way battle between AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal, BJP’s Parvesh Verma, and Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit. Kejriwal, who banked on the party’s welfare schemes during previous polls and won with a significant margin, currently holds the New Delhi seat.
Kalkaji: The Kalkaji seat is expected to witness a fierce battle between the three parties, while it remains a stronghold for Chief Minister Atishi. Both AAP and Congress fielded women candidates from the Kalkaji seat – Atishi and Alka Lamba, respectively – while BJP fielded Ramesh Bidhuri.
Jangpura: An AAP stronghold, the party decided to field senior leader Manish Sisodia from the Jangpura seat this year. Sisodia, who previously contested the polls from Patparganj, is pitted against BJP leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah and Congress leader Farhad Suri.
Okhla: The Aam Aadmi Party fielded Amanatullah Khan from the Okhla assembly seat for the third consecutive time for the 2025 polls in Delhi. Khan, who won from the seat in 2020 and 2015, is contesting against Congress leader Ariba Khan and BJP’s Firdos Alam and AIMIM’s Shifa Ur Rehman.
Malviya Nagar: AAP leader Somnath Bharti is contesting from the Malviya Nagar seat this year. Bharti won from the Malviya Nagar seat in the previous two elections, and the constituency continues to be a stronghold for AAP. The AAP leader is contesting the polls against BJP’s Satish Upadhyay and Congress leader Jitendra Kumar Kochar.
