(Representational/ File)The Delhi Model Virtual School (DMVS) has started accepting applications for admission to Class 9 for the upcoming academic year. The “virtual school” — affiliated to the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) — functions as one of the state government’s schools of specialised excellence (SSE).
The school operates online “through live classes, recorded sessions, curated videos, tutorials, personalised mentoring sessions, and assignments and assessments,” read a circular issued by the Deputy Director of Education (SSE) on Wednesday.
Study material for the DMVS is provided online, in the form of PDFs or videos.
“The preferred mode for the term-end examinations will be online. However, these may be conducted in-person at a physical centre in Delhi, as per DBSE policies,” the circular added.

The new academic session is slated to begin in April-end, with the online registration process underway from Tuesday (March 12) to March 31.
The DMVS, launched in 2022, offers classes to the students of 9 to 12. For Class 9 students, there are six core subjects — Social Science, Science, English, Mathematics, Hindi, and Computer Science. Students are also offered skill-oriented courses like coding, finance, and design, and foreign language courses along with assistance in preparing for examinations like JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) and NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test) via online classes and tests. It also conducts “co-curricular activities” like “special assemblies and zero periods with special guest speakers, yoga sessions, competitions and games”. Assemblies are conducted online, along with three classes and one tutorial a day.
