Fill forms with extra care: DU

While Delhi University wants to make sure none of its application forms are rejected or wasted,officials at the university maintain that the process would be a lot easier if candidates could take a little extra care while filling up their forms.

Among the commonest errors encountered are category fields being left blank,errors in board roll numbers,the candidate failing to mention his/her school board and wrong subject codes. Apart from these errors,forms that are submitted are found folded,crumpled and stapled. According to university officials involved in processing the applications,well-handled and properly filled-up forms take 30 seconds to scan,while it takes around five minutes if the forms are damaged or folded. In case of extreme damage,the officials even have to feed the information manually.

G S Tuteja,Deputy Dean,Students’ Welfare says students should take extra caution while entering their information. “Also,they should not fold,staple or paste photos on the forms as those cannot be scanned then,” he adds. He,however,assures : “We never reject forms and even feed the information in the forms manually,if need be.”
