AAP became a party of VVIPs in just 50 days, says Ajay Maken

The party put had put up hoardings of VIP and VVIP parking at many gates of the venue, evoking strong reaction from the Congress.

The Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday came under sharp criticism from Congress for becoming a ‘party of VIP and VVIPs’.

On the 50th day of its government, the AAP relaunched the ‘1031’ anti-graft helpline from the Talkatora Stadium in Central Delhi. However, the party put had put up hoardings of VIP and VVIP parking at many gates of the venue, evoking strong reaction from the Congress.

Congress leader Ajay Maken took a dig at the Arvind Kejriwal-led party by claiming that AAP has become a party of VIP and VVIPs.

The anti-corruption helpline was first launched during Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) 49-day stint in power after the 2013 Assembly elections, but was later discontinued. Reviving the helpline was one of the major poll promises made by the party this year.

Kejriwal launched the helpline today at Talkatora stadium here in presence of his cabinet colleagues, MLAs and a large number of AAP supporters and appealed the people to inform the government about graft so that action can be taken against the guilty.

“We will take action against our own minister, MLAs if they are found corrupt. Even Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and I will be jailed if we are found corrupt,” Kejriwal said, adding that in five years, Delhi will be ranked among top five corruption-free cities in the world.
