Confusion and confrontation continues to delay the proposed merger of the six Janata Parivar parties as RJD chief Lalu Prasad is all set to campaign for the Congress in the Delhi Assembly polls while JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar will support the AAP.
Nitish Kumar, who had earlier planned to campaign for the Congress, has now decided to support the AAP to “avoid confrontation” with Lalu and also because “AAP stands a better chance of winning”, sources said.
“Nitishji and Sharadji have extended JD(U)’s support to Kejriwal because he can upset the BJP, while the Congress stands a poor chance. It is true that Laluji’s move to campaign for the Congress creates some confusion, but it will not come in way of our merger,” JD(U) national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP K C Tyagi told The Indian Express.
